Putty and paint will last, but not for long. Welding will ensure you will never have to do it again.

Well thats good news at least man.
Finding someone who can do it is 50% of the problem.
GETTING them to do it is the other 50%.

A 4-km walk pushing a set of wheels and tyres, if that isn't dedication to the Volvo 300 cause, then I don't know what is :)

Where did you get the steering rack gaiters from? I could do with a pair...
MKIII 360GLT Aus-spec B200EA 239K
Mods: custom paint fade
New Cylinder head.
Auxilary cooling fan.
195/60/14 Pyonghung Ditchfinder tyres
Vario Vents FTW

G8 4 DRFTN etc....

also my 3rd set of wheels came this morning:)
ill post some pics tomorrow
there 14" by 7"
there 5 spoke i started work on one of them today i got the tire of with a lot of brute force, ignorance and lucubration.
then a started sanding it back it had some curb damage so i lifted one side of the back of my car and mounted the rim and started the car put it in first then sanded the lip with the wheel spinning it was taking too long so went up to 2nd then 3rd. witch worked better almost smoothed the lip completely still needs more on the lip also gave it a once over by hand tomorrow ill get my dremil onto it and do the little nooks and cranny s.
then again with some finer grit and so on i am thinking of making them charcoal. let me know what you think:)
this is the only pic i have for the moment

Image
this is how it sits at the moment covered in dust.
ill get a fem more pics up tomorrow when i find my i phone cord.
