A quote i found, made me GRRRRRRRR! : "You have one car to put into Skip 101. What would it be?

The Volvo 340! It’s just a dull car that is dynamically disgusting and not nice to look at. Dr Wolfgang Reitzle, CEO of Ford when they took over Volvo, once asked me whether it was possible to buy all the Volvo 340’s and scrap them in order to improve the brands reputation."
This was found from http://www.asrecommended.co.uk/motoring ... rview.aspx
I never liked the bloke anyway!
Anyway, wonder if i can buy all the cr@p tv presenters just to scrap them?
Hehehehehehe :) 340pw

Dr Wolfgang Reitzle was only jealous of the 340's relative reliability compared to Ford's products of the day, after all F.O.R.D. stands for Fix Or Repair Daily

Also, I seam to remember watching Mr Q Wilson quite exited about a 340 in a 1990's TV program about the bargains to be had with certain second hand cars....amazing how these people contradict themselves and have selective memories!

I rarely bother to watch T.V. now so these so called presenters/celebraties mean little to me any more. I'm fed up with the crap thats on TV, too many adverts and self serving, overpaid simpering tw*ts for my liking :x When I do watch anything it's on my computer so I can delay the start and cut out the adverts :P

What a hypocrite that man is. Here's the Top Gear episode, the 340 starts at 2:30 min:

Top Gear over here is shown on the 9 Network. Show is about 50 mins long in the UK, it's about an hour and a half here...... 10mins of Top Gear, 5 mins of Ad break...
It does your nut in - especially as we seem to get the shows six months late....

I've taken to just stealing the episodes off the internet. If they aint gonna be nice to old Volvos' I dont owe them squat! :

It is one of joys when you get old, anything trendy becomes silly, old stuff becomes desirable and tv becomes to box that is just taking up some space, at least that is what I have found out how world has gone around me, I don't have even an antenna so can't watch tv if I wanted to, but I really do not want to, there is nothing to see.

What was that show where in one part Mr Wilson recommended some old car to buy which is in low price and will be future classic? I kind of liked that program, but it probably was cancelled because it was not boosting use once culture of modern society, that I'm trying to cut loose from.

All persons that hate 300 series Volvos seem to be persons that really don't understand a lot how to improve things, sure 300 has few things which would need improvement, but improvements are rather easy to make, car is easy to work on and very reliable when used properly, but it seems to be that there is little such persons made in last 30 years who really understands about anything from anything, just going what feelings tell and ignoring reason, so how in such world tv presenters could be any better when they usually are worst of them all?

I guess it is time to admit that times have overtaken us years ago and we are just some old fossils now, fixing world by being grumpy old timers

At least 300 is easier to weld than french crap as with french crap all I could do was holes, metal is too thin in it, also french crap even it is lot newer is having more holes by rust than 360 and also I think 360 is lot better looking, front bumper of mk3 is just something I really don't like from, especially when headlight wipers are removed, bumper is too massive looking, some early type bumper would be nicer, which is not such massive :D

Politicians and journalist/tv-faces, both are very swift coat switchers and rather useless persons.

Well, there is perhaps exceptions, don't know what to think about Jay Leno for example:
http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/ I think he should get one 300 there too, he already has Saab 93B, 300 would be very fitting to that company :D

Top gear isn't really top gear anymore. It's just become a vehicle for the presenters egos and career progression. At least Q. Wilson used to talk sense on old top gear, he was a good presenter. New top gear's ok if you want to watch 3 middle aged men trying to act like teenagers (nothing against you teenagers out there acting like teenagers!). They should have just continued making top gear like they used too and saved all the messing about for another program. I have and still do watch it if I catch it by accident as it still has interesting stuff in it, but all not much use for ordinary folks  It used to be a factual consumer type program, now it' s mostly fatuous blather for consumption by the masses.

It's an entertainment program at the end of the day, people want to watch 3 old men acting like idiots. Motoring shows are pretty boring to Mr average, especially these days when everyone drives around in auto-pods.

Why do we make such a fuss about people hating the 340 anyway?

"NOBODY LIKES THE 340. WE DON'T CARE!" sm4

I see 300 as investment, get one now, restore it and in 10 years you will gain some profit as there will not be many originals or in any condition left, also we need to create some positive boom so that in 10 years it is desirable model, so prices will go really high, I have almost done price tag for mine saying 12 000

I look forward to them being hated again... might go back to the days of me and Hugh putting down 99p bids on ebay as it'd got a random accessory or bit of trim we wanted then panicing that we'd have to find somewhere to put the damn things
