banded steel help

hey guys,
i am going to be getting some volvo 13" steels banded and i just want to know what offset i should ask for
im going for 8j rears and 7j fronts.
any advice is helpful. :D

shouldnt alter the offset as the band is inserted away from the hub (as my understanding goes.)
the distance from the mounting face to the back of the wheel wont change?
so if you use volvo steelies, theyll still fit the same, just be much wider?


Someone shoot me down please if im wrong. :?

ahh i see....
i got told that they take the whole wheel centre out band the rims and then refit the middle to the new offset

Backspacing won't change but the offset will be different as the centreline of the wheel will move outwards. a 2" band on the outside will fit fine, 3" would be super cool but probably require arch mods.

what about 3" outer band with mega tyre stretch? sounds a bit tasty :wink:

and a pick of mine with around 4"/5" (maybe, thats a guess. I know theyre bloomin deep though!) outer lip banded steels (13x9). . .

No more pics yet. soon maybe though.

And no, I haven't been pulled yet. Stopping at red lights and I've had police next to me, behind me and in front (on different occasions), and they don't seem to bat an eye lid. I've had them on for a good while now. :D
