I have a mate wants to know things to look out for when buying a 300? across the models. Im helping him but it would be great if others new anything. Rusty archs and springs cups, but anything else please?

Across the board, rusty rear jacking points are prone. Sills. Front vallance (non structural?)
340s carb base warping can be a ballache (or carb issues generally) Specially b17s (1.7s) Everything resolvable though.
Perished fabric fuel hoses can be a prob, as can filler neck at the cap. Smell of petrol in car is a pointer. Again resolvable.

Cant think of much else marqe specific man. Give everything a good poke, and have a drive of it is the best advice.

Rust: Battery tray, top of arch under the spare tyre, any and all seams - especially round the arches.
Under the engine bay fusebox because of bad drainage - especially if stood for a long time.
Rear/mid of sills at the seam join, they nearly always go there

mileage is rarely correct and easy to clock - since they wear well, it's nearly always believable

Bent steering geometry.

Ineffective synchromesh, not that it matters since the gearbox is all but indestructible.

Well-dodgy suspension geometry, road test it before you buy - make sure it clears speed bumps flat, not leaning further to one side or the other.

All in all they're great cars, can't be broken, have a few inherent faults but its ONE or TWO :D
