Just spotted this on ebay.
Never seen this before, a one off or an option in some countries? Looks like an original 1976 magazine.

Far out! That's some cool space age look right there. I'd have thought it was a one-off unfortunately.
Re: Photo of a Mk1 with white indicators!
As far as I know you can just pull the orange part of the unit out and fit an orange/silver orange bulb to get this effect
1989 - Volvo 360 GLT
1985 - Volvo 360 GLS
2008 - Volvo S60 SE Lux
1985 - Volvo 360 GLS

Re: Photo of a Mk1 with white indicators!
I've just noticed that it also has side repeater indicators on the the wings (look closely at the left wing, left on the photo that is). They were not on the early cars in the UK. Not only that, they look different to the ones fitted later, smaller round ones in a daf style?
Yes, I suppose you could remove the orange bit, but would you'd loose the reflector part too?, maybe that's not a problem with the M.O.T.? as long as it's bright enough!
The photo looks like a white lens inside. Maybe it would be easy to cover the orange with a white plastic as in that thread 'how to make white Mk3 indicators'. Should be easy as you wouldn't have to make it watertight or anything, and you could leave the orange underneath for the reflective bit. I can feel some experiments coming on with spare headlights! It's been a while since I last dismantled one, cant remember exactly how they go inside.

Re: Photo of a Mk1 with white indicators!
Here's an early 1976 pic showing some pretty pale indicators:

They're not as white as in that Italian mag pic, but certainly not as orange as they were on the standard cars ...
