Hi folks

...or its been stolen from a locked up garage 1989 colour 219 5 door 2litre GLE well known for a few years at meets etc

Must have kept my eye off the ball over the years first high car crime on streets so get best lock up garage I could afford then car related crime goes down and price of scrap steel plummets so everything feels then safe then price of scrap goes up and people short of money now as well - I forgot to increase number and type of locks to compensate

Not sure if I will replace it this time as I am moving to a house from a flat and its all change for me

Thats really bad news, from a garage as well :(
This metal thieving (if thats what it is) is getting serious, round here they are even cutting down wooden power line poles for the over head wires, ripping out phone lines and taking drain covers. Death by electrocution is the deserving end for some of them

Oh bloody hell!

Jeez, Mick, I'm sorry to hear that. I know how much love and effort has gone in to keeping that such a nice example of a Mk3. I will keep my eyes peeled and rest assured notifying you will be the second thing I do after I break the kegs of the scrotes responsible.

Mick, that's terrible news mate, I know how it feels to have a vehicle stolen. I hope it turns up safe and sound. Make sure you press the insurance company hard, as they'll offer peanuts, if not less. I'll keep my eyes peeled as I'm not a million miles away.

All the best mate.

Pete

When Soviet Union did collapse, there was time when railway tracks was guarded by military and phone cables were stolen from poles they were hanging at, such I have heard.

No more than month ago someone stole railway tracks here in Finland, of course it was just museum track, but it did spoil even that was going to happen in there.

Old days they stole everything that was not bolted tight, these days even that will not help it seems.

Hopefully bastards have their face on some cctv so they can be caught.

That's really bad news :( Keep us posted regarding what if anything you find out about where it has gone...I'm sure it will be of interest to a number of us. It has presumably either been stolen to order (I doubt it...I know they're getting more desirable, but there are surely easier ways than a locked garage?) or it has been "borrowed" by "gentlemen of no fixed abode". I had the latter attempt to steal a 340 destined for scrap from my drive last year. What was left was about £200 worth, so not a small sum.

With my VOC hat on, let me know if you need help with a valuation, etc, let me know. I sincerely hope it doesn't come to that, though.

cheers

James

sm85 sm85 :(

that is bad if it has been stolen for scrap from a lockup.

Hope they do find the scum that stole it, sadly there is little hope and even if they do not much will happen.

Fingers crossed the car is still in one piece and get found.
