Those who know me will have gathered that the boss and I tend to wander about a bit, and indeed we are just back from wandering about in Germany.
We chose to go through the pipe and drive up and across Belgium, taking the opportunity to call in on Robbert Jan near Antwerpen (yes - got your bits Chris
and Robbert says thanks for the strut tops). It was the Antwerpen bypass that started the fun - juuussst about stationary for 1 1/2 hours (yes you did warn me Robbert)
whilst "the bitch that lives in the GPS" harangued us constantly with "your arrival time has just gone out the window" and "you're still on the fastest route" - yeeeees.
Made it to Robbert in time for tea, dropped off a cargo of 300 bits (and rare cooking spices), loaded a cargo of 300 bits and having just time for a peek in a wondrous
collection of unobtainable bits it was time to head for the border. Thank you Robbert for making us so welcome!!
Having left Robert at about the time we were expecting to find our hotel in Sindorf we piled on the coals and eventually arrived at 19.30.
Our turning I think!

Our hotel I think!

Our main reason for this particular wander was to visit friends who own a transport business in Kerpen - and have a "showroom" 780
Mrs Mac with our visitees I think!

The Mac loose outside Koln cathedral - I think!

32C in Koln, lots of interesting sights to see but --- we go shopping - definitely!

Still the Rhine was nice - I think

And according to the boss so was the Linztd chocolate museum. Koln is full of buildings that look as if they
should be on a dessert trolley in a restaurant !!!

Having decimated the shopping fund we had a snoop around the area and found -
A huge hole in the ground - I think! (grubbing about for coal it seems).

We also drove down to Bonn - all concrete, glass and dead embassies (sorry about that Tom)
Found other buildings that should be on a cake trolley - Schloss Augustusburg in Bruhl.

And Schlosses that looked like Schlosses - Schloss Paffendorf!

I just loved the castle, and the boss - she just loved the Brasserie there = may I present
"Coupe Schloss Paffendorf" !

Having got generally Schlossed out we decided to head home - without risking Antwerpen again so we took a more
southerly route via Bruxelles - here the fun continued - 1 1/2 hours on the Bruxelles bypass with the "bitch who lives in the GPS"
etc, etc, - but now we had torrential thunderstorms!!
Debs catching the lightning!!! just east of Leuven (lovely weather you have Aymat).

Made the mistake of a comfort stop (at my age you take them if you need them or not) just before Gent - big mistake - could smell the loos
from the Diesel pumps (100yds away) - cost 1 euro too.
Still, overall an excellent trip with the bosses S40 Fraud getting 53.4mpg over 900mls.
WAKE UP - I'm finished - you can go now!
Mac.
