The best bit (for me)

850 Manual, with 170k ish.
2.0 non turbo is made of slow.
Lupagur adds thrift win.
Tints in the back as the old lad I got it from was pretty gangsta. Or liked dogging.
Stormtrooper stickers on order.

Cheers man. You know you need LPG in your life.mattywatsit wrote:This thread has epic coolness in it! Very jealous - liking that a lot!

As daft as it sounds I love the auto. I love sneaking up on stuff in it. It's so quick for a 16 year old car. It mite be for sale next year if your interested.volvosneverdie wrote:Cant imagine you in an auto man, but cheers. Cant beat a bit of "R" can you?roadrallyliam wrote:That looks class mate.

More miles I do, the more im liking it. Crying out for a turbo though....
I bet you it is! But Sorry man. Being of limited funds, I doubt it. Unless its going for less than 500 dollar with LPG attatched!roadrallyliam wrote: It's so quick for a 16 year old car. It mite be for sale next year if your interested.
Cheers man. Looks better in real life. Trying not to spend next months rent on a Bonnet Bra and wind deflectors.....................Nimminz wrote:looks good mate!

Regarding the check strap...inspect carefully...see if it's the check strap (£25 or so from the dealer) or the welds for the mount on the body having broken. Both are prone to failing, and if it's the mount welds, it wants fixing ASAP. The mount needs re-welding. I've taken to bracing them...I can send pics if that would be useful.
As for the steering...I'm bemused. It's one of the better features of them...much more direct and "pointy" then a 300 (and MILES better than a 2/7/900). Sure it's not broken? My theory is that the wishbones have stiffer bushes than a 2/3/7/900, because they're not the only means of isolation. They're bolted to the subframe, which is itself isolated from the body. In other words, the wishbone bushes are very rigid (so all the steering gear stays in alignment), and the primary isolation is carried out by the subframe bushes...whereas on a 2/3/7/900, the wishbone bushes have to do all the work, so have to be super-sloppy to avoid too much vibration / harshness.
Feel free to ask away if you have problems...I've run these things for nearly 5 years now, and still look after several.
If you like it...my V70R is back on the market, y'knowYou can get T5 saloons on gas for that sort of money on a good day, too.
cheers
