Has anyone got any info about repairing a water damaged DSLR and costs of that?
I'm thinking that it is probably inside electronics that need to be replaced in such case, this case includes rain and has then been over a year unused, also it first stopped responding, then put garbage on screen and then shut off and is not waking up, so I'm thinking electronics just fried on that one, but I have no idea how generally expensive such repairs are and how much typically need to be replaced in similar cases.
I have had replacement quite some time ago already, but newer model from camera seems to be lot worse what it comes to low light photographing so would like to get older one fixed if that is even possible. Broken one is Nikon D40.

Re: Water damaged DSLR
maybe if you could find another on ebay thats got something different broken, for example the lens mount or something, then you could swap the electronics over into the water damaged one. Mechanical parts like the mirror might be rusted / damaged too. but if its not turning on my guess would be the electronics inside.

Re: Water damaged DSLR
It was just minor rain shower and probably only one drop of water that managed to go into electronics from info button press, so it is just something fried from electronics, can't think any other reason for not powering up and as there was quick flash of garbage on LCD then it probably was the cause.
If I'm taking it apart it will not live ever again though...
