Red 300's

Post by theo2468 » 07 Jun 2012 06:13 pm

Give me some ideas, Ive been searching for ages and I can't decide between 13's or 15's, I know 13's look a little silly unless your on coil overs. But I remember a nice valver with a purple engine bay that was red and it had classics on thay were nice. Anyway help me out please haha

What tyre size is that? And how low is it? Cheers

Hi TJ.
What happened to your bumper indicator?
Cheers Mark.

On mk3s you can run 13s but you need some chunky rubber to go along with it. Otherwise if you want low profiles, run 14s or 15s.

Classics are a bit special though, maybe you could do a photoshop first?

It was samueljon's before Theo. That's the one you were on about.

I do  And I'm always right.

Nah if it's what you want to do bud that's fine, it's just something that really gets my goat. MK3s are especially bad at pulling off 13s on low profiles.

were you on about this one?

Needs more lows if you ask me. For 13s you need coilies and 3inch blocks, or run the front on the bump stops and 3inch blocks. Either way, it needs to be decked!

Get some 14" classics - they're rare but can be found

What I'm going to do is keep my ats cups till I can afford coilovers then ill get some 13's. Only problem is 15's rub like hell if you've got anyone slash anything in the back with stock suspension let alone dropping two inches like I plan, ill have to get some adjustable shocks ;)

The offset must be fairly low on them Cups if they're rubbing on standard height, or your tyres are too wide/tall. 195/50/15 on 7" wide rim ET30 don't rub on a GLT even fully laden, never mind 340 height! :)

Yeah, Ive ran 195/50/15s on a load of low cars and never rubbed. Even had BMW Mini steels with balloons on a 340 -2" and there was only slight rub on mega full lock.

heres my first 340 on 13x6j ATS classics with 205/60 tyres - if they were wider (the wheels) it would have looked epic but still this was no coilovers and looked good imo. problem i think with 15s is that they make the 340 look like its wearing high heels unless its very low but for that you need all sorts of tubbing work. OR much beefier bumpers/sideskirts like the 340 thats having a corvette box and prop being put into it
