soon to stop being a Volvo 360 driver :(

Post by williswoody » 29 Jul 2012 12:07 pm

Hi all, long time no see. I'm here to say that, sadly, I'm going to be giving up driving my 360 GLT soon, which sucks. Way too expensive for me, drinks fuel, and there's always something going wrong with it that costs some absurd amount to fix, but I pay anyway.

I had to pay $143 the other day to fix the headlights! Driving home one night from work and the headlights just suddenly turn off (I was out in the countryside). The only way I could get them to work was to hold the high-beam stalk in, while changing gears and steering. Without me pulling the stalk backwards, nothing would work at all.

And there's still that smell of fuel and oil which is randomly wafting through the inside sometimes... sometimes it's strong, sometimes its not.

I'm currently about to get it serviced, and then I'm on the look-out for some sort of Toyota Corolla.

I've always felt safe driving in my little 360, but it's just way more than I can afford right now :( maybe in a few years time, I will pull it out of the garage when I am a successful employee in the television industry (that's my dream job anyway) and drive it again.

I still have to get the wallaby dent pulled out, which I did back in February (http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/v ... =2&t=13123). If I ever get some spare money together sometime, I'll definately work on it. But for now... no.

Hi mate.
Sorry to here that. Your headlight problem might be the earth conection on the inside of the
bulkhead. Remove dash clocks and have a fiddle with the loom.
I had this problem once. Good luck.
Cheers Mark.
