so.. when did the steering wheel change over from old n chunky (like my '86) to the new one (looks like a 440 one) as with foggy's '88 (iirc?)

also, has anyone got a 'sports' steering wheel that they offered in the accessories catalog? ohh and did they have any wheel centres for the old style ones, other than 'volvo' and 'volvoGLT'??

It was always the same steering wheel for all models untill 1984 (only the central cap was different for the GLS, GLE and GLT). Since 1985, the whole steering wheel was different for the 360 but there was no change for the 340...

Very early cars (as pictured in the 1977 brochure) had a rather nice looking 3-spoke affair. The horn in this model was on the indicator stalk.

340s have the '240 style' wheel with the twin horn buttons. 360s pretty much always had the nicer wheel. 340s from about 89 onwards all had the 360 wheel. Chapter and verse

i prefer the 240 style one meself, easier to find the horn (if that 360 one is like the 440 ones then its not always easy..)
