"chrome" = "Chrome for Android" (Installed as default on
Google devices shipping with Android 4.2+ or higher)
"browser" = "Android Browser" (The stock browser included with Android versions 1.5+ or higher)
Yes, they are both browsers. Yes, they are both from Google. They aren't one in the same though
I use Firefox (currently 35.0) on my desktop and have been using FF for years. I keep having to fiddle with it though to preserve "old version" layouts as developers seem to like fixing things that ain't broke.
I've tried FF on various Android devices, but don't really get on with it. Either just use the stock Android Browser supplied or sometimes Dolphin.
