Any techies on board?

Am sorting out how to fit the vacuum-buffer with one-way valve in the downshift side of the EMVK.
I want to make sure I have understood it right,

Here is the kit I have prepared:

Ta, thought it might be something to do with a lower ratio.

We´ve also dropped in a hotter cam and swapped the paper air filter for a K&N one.

The only thing left to do to the engine is switch the wires of ignition timing sensor to give a mite more advance.

For the rest we took only a few bits off. All in all about 50 kilos. Not earth shattering, but 50 kilos off and 10 hp more, propelled with a lower ratio does make for a way more lively car.
Oh and we moved the spare wheel from the front to behind the passenger seat. Again not changing the nature of he thing but still a difference.

I have resisted the urge to change the seats. The standard ones do not offer any support but they do offer ample change of position and we have experienced that this is more important than side support. Ditto spingy versus rigid. We will after all be doing up to 8 hours of dirt road driving with a 45 y.o. car design.

Lastly we run way more pressure in the front tires and thát doés change the nature of the car; it does away with the heavy understeer: With the rest of the changes it adds up to neutral steering which can be seduced into oversteering.

The suspension set up makes the car a joy to drive over speed bumps and undulating dirt roads. She jumps smoothly. Hence her name ´Jolly Jumper´.

p.s. just been out for a long cycling ride and my son has swapped the standard claxon for a ´beep-beep´ air horn. Will check in a moment.

More like a mid hold
It is between the mountain switch and the normal.
Basically a ´sports´ setting.

Got the extra 12V socket in and swapped the ashtray for a rev counter. Looks nicely uncluttered.

Counting down now; we´re off Friday at sunrise.
