Thought I'd post up, as I don't see 300's as often anymore (used to still see them until about 6months ago). Anyhoo, saw 5 different ones within 40miles drive on Friday, plus another 3 over 100miles on Sat, and 2 yesterday. As I was in a different place each day, I'm guessing they were different cars, thought that was a bit random!

It's weird how that seems to happen sometimes. I had a similar experience last March; seemed to be unable to get away from the things, then suddenly they were nowhere to be seen again.

I had a bit of a spell of 300 spotting last week, including an extremely nice 340 GL outside the stealers across the road.

I haven't seen many lately. Spotted one a week or so ago heading towards me and gave them a flash of the lights, but not sure if they knew why lol.

Oh and there was one outside Office World a couple weeks back. I was having a quick nose around when the owners returned, but they didn't seem too interested.

And finally I saw a beautiful Mk1 on Saturday at a local car show. Same one as I posted about last year, but I didn't see the owners unfortunately. http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/v ... t=car+show

Saw a couple of 300's in Holland last weekend (no real surprise there), but a 300 on German roads is a pretty rare sight. 1 every 6 months maybe?

But to compensate there's usually a friendly reaction when you flash your lights

All the local 300's I see, the owners don't seem interested or respond to any greeting! It's probably just a cheap car as a run about. I've left V3M cards on the most local two, with no response. Still good to see a few about still.

Similar thing with the ones local to me. A lad who works at the place next to where I work has got himslef a 1.7 but is only using as a cheap run around. He has promised to let me have it when he is done with it.

there used to be a 340 vario down the road but think it got hit by a bmw x5 when it was parked!!

i keep my eyes open all the time though!

A 340 passed me this morning as I was waiting to pull out of my road. I smiled at the driver, as you do.

A bit daft really, as I was on my bicycle. I passed him half a mile down the road at the traffic lights but didn't bother to stop and explain why I'd been giving his car the eye.

i dont think i had ever seen a 300 in france till i got mine then they where everywhere.

a blue dl in the next village, i mean whats the chance of that , been hit in the side and is a bit rough. but its mot'ed for 2 years, and 0 rust .

i also saw a diesel in bordeux, and had a ride in it , and a 360 base model on the peage and a what i believe is a 1.4 turbo dl that i saw in carcassone, it dumped (psstwhoosshh).

dont remember seeing many in uk, but there is a scrap yard full of then near hitchin...

Lol, nice! I've spent the weekend on the island, and have seen 6 or 7, 2 of which I havn't seen over here before. Maroon F plate 340GLE, 360 GLS, beige E plate saloon, blue 340 3dr, red 340 3dr, and Kar Sure there was another....

Also found out a guy on the other side of the island has more Amazons and 300's than Pete... as well as random 1's, 2's as well. Might have to go round at some point, met him a couple of times now.

Last one I saw belonged to a certain Mr Podmore of V3M fame, they do seem to be gettin scarce

Cornwall - 1 on the A30, a red 3 door 1.7 (elderly gentleman)

Back:
London - 1 another blue 340 (stopped by the police, man wildly waving arms about)
France / Belgium / Germany - 0

To compare, I spotted only a handful of 200's but about a dozen 7/900's ...

Hmm.. in Wales over the weekend, around the corner from my aunts house was a 360 GLEi SE.. with leather and a/c... looked a bit shabby but I've only ever known of two, and one of them is Andy's!
