Wow, awesome turnout there all, I'm really impressed. I started the ball rolling on this a while ago now after seeing similar on another Volvo forum (one of the american T5 ones I think... I referenced it at the time ;)) because they had what I'd class as great pics, i.e ones you'd see on a poster or in an advertisement, and I thought it'd be awesome to have great pics of 300's. I'm really happy people have liked the idea enough to take part and keep it going.

The entries this month surpass previous comps we've had imho, all the pictures are of awesome quality, and I'm sure looking at the cars I can spot a few people who have entered for the first time. Thank you all for getting involved, I easily say that as long as no one minds, I'll be using these as desktop backgrounds for a while! Might have to think about a re write to the rules of higher res' allowed soon too...

Any hoo, I took this last weds, so missed the deadline, but wanted to share it anyway, plus I do have an entry in already :P

Some cracking entries (cracking, reflection, mirror... get it? ;)) and a fantastic turnout! This strengthens the case for a V3M photos forum, or a secondary competition for general photography (I'd love to see what you guys could do if there wasn't a car in the way!)

Anybody else on flickr?

Awesome idea Dave... both a separate forum and another comp would rock. As for flickr, I've only just got a decent camera (i.e. not a cheap from 5 years ago one :D), so not yet.. but maybe soon.

Definitely, although I really only use it to manage some pictures, I don't really see myself contributing in an "artistic way" or anything.

I like the whole "tagging" bit, after posting up a picture of the 300 next a clapped out lorry in Moldova titleing it "Volvo 360 and a Russian truck" some Russian guy wrote me a comment saying "Nice pic, and by the way, the truck's a ZIL". I like that

There's always next time ;) That's rivalling MJ for clean-ness, good effort! Seems you're panels are straight as too... are they in real life, or is auto flatter hiding a few dings? You'll have MJ running if not ;)

The only problem with the car look at the 3rd pic. that wing is mashed-brought like that and the doors got a dent in (also brought like that) that ive still got to get round to poping out, and the boots got some paint damge above the lock. thats about it. but i take pride in her!
just this weekend gone i had all the wheels of painted the rear drums and washed out all the arches. then 3 days later drove a drunk friend home he puked all over the outside of the car another reason to clean so 3 cleaning sessions in side a week. havent polished her latly as my polish seemed to be taking the paint of. but im awaiting the chance to order some Chemical guys cleaning gear. but as per another post my exhaust has just broken so moneys goign on getting that fixed. Can i get another wing brand new or is that also discontinued like the heat hose i coudlnt buy? :D

forgot to say they were taken with my mobile aswell :) so yeh no camera trickery

Wings were still availible last time I looked... about 55 quid I think from memory. I bent mine around a 106... flipping pug didn't even dent. Ah well, was just after a rally, and luckily a mates pug.

Some great photos
I would like to vote for No 8 for these reasons
(a) it manages to get a relaxing view into the picture still managing to stick to the subject –see next
(b) most of all alludes reality by putting the theme into the writing being the right way round
(c) reminds me you can drive a 300 much better if you know whats behind you

Well done all

Cheers mickt

Ah, of course, it's a photo taken through the rear view mirror! I'd been trying to work out how that was taken and what angle it was, what with the text being the right way round, yet the headrests being before the window!

I feel stupid now for not working it out before :P

nr's 7 and 9 all the way as far as I'm concerned, those are some of the best quality v300 pics I've ever seen.. Cant get too excited about a view of the rear window myself though.. like the italian driver in the gumball rally movie said before breaking the rear view mirror off and chucking it away: First-a rule of italian driving: Whats-a behind you is-a not important!!
