Finally picked the 850 up tonight. What a cracking engine - really needs to be in a 300, it would be awesome!

It would be a nice conversion but the red block is so much stronger I cant see the point the hassle . On the other hand a 960 lump

225bhp stock and that 5cylinder sound swings it for me.... what kinda MPG do these T5's get, would love one as a DD eventually

Sound is quite addictive - not quite up with the Rover but it sounds like nothing else I've heard before. The exhaust on mine is quite loud too, complete with pops/bangs/burbles on the overun - amusing at the moment, but no will probably get annoying soon!
After watching the computer on the way home yesterday I reckon 35mpg should be acheivable on a run. Round town will probably be in the 20s somewhere. So about the same as my 360

The 5 cyl sound is odd but nice. With twin exit exhaust they do sound quite like a V10. One I had here for LPG work sounded great going through the town with everyone looking expecting to something different

I have to say the handling is actually very good for what it is, well at the moment when it's dry anyway. I can see trying make quick progress in the wet is going to be interesting!!
I'll try and get a vid of me giving it a blat at some point so you can see what it sounds like

the noise is awesome if a little quiet, they lack in DV type noises as std, not sure how to get round this. Making progressin the dry is easy, but theyre very safely setup, quite forgiving. In the wet obviously theres less grip, but tbh with 225bhp in 1500kg, theyre still pretty tame.
As for fitting one in a 360, a remapped one with 300bhp would be awesome as a fast road engine, but as everyone is saying, the redblock is cheper as a first step for 200bhp, and stronger fo major development 400+bhp.
Depends what youre after tho!

Its actually quite loud when you're in the car! In fact the burbling, popping and occasional BANG is getting quite annoying, especially when driving through sleepy Devon villages!
Although, i have to say, whatever you think of FWD the massive punch the turbo gives when overtaking is very useful. And so far i've found the handling to be excellent - had a wee detour down so nice little lanes earlier
Only problem with the car is that the ECU light has come on. Runs fine still but need to investigate!
