Wanted: steering wheel boss.

Post by mattywatsit » 04 Sep 2011 03:27 pm

Hi Everyone,

I am looking for a steering wheel boss to fit 340/360 for an Astrali wheel with a 4"/10cm PCD.

Let me know what you've got.

Cash waiting.

Thanks.

Thanks for that :) I have put a wanted post up on Retro rides for a 205/309 boss either but the problem seems to be a one with the correct pcd for a classic mountney/Astrali wheel.

Thanks again.

Found it all :D :D :D :D

You need one of these:
http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Motorspor ... 1262/36456

And you need this:
http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_in ... ts_id=7345

Then you can bolt your astrali wheel on, if you get bored, take it off with the adapter, and put on a newer style 6 bolt wheel :)

Hope this helps, Thomas...........

^ So much Fail.

Thats a Momo boss, and a Motolita to Mountney adaptor. All 3 are 3 different p.c.ds.
So would not mate up.

If youre gonna do it that way, youd need a Momo/sparco/nardi/omp to Mountney/Astralli Adaptor plate.

Personally, Id hang on for one on ebay. Theyre normally around a tenner ish.

Or I have momo bosses cheap if you can source a momo - mountney adaptor plate. Or make your own?

Thanks for the help as above, shame that they won't match up!

I think I will wait for one coming up on eBay as you suggest VND... how often do they come up usually?

Matt.

Nooooo, its not a fail :) That adapter converts newer style moto litas (the 6 bolts, not the older style 9 bolts) and Mountney steering wheels, to the newest style which is also 6 bolt, but a lot smaller/closer together :)

"Plate to connect splined or hex drive hub to Motolita & Mountney steering wheels"
See it says, moto lita AND mountney, not moto lita TO mountney. That plate will convert a Mountney to an OMP. If in any doubt, phone them up :)

haha nope its all good :) The only reason i was saying it would be good to do it like this. is that the adapter plate is only an extra £10, and if he uses the newer style 6 bolt boss with the adapter, if he gets bored of this steering wheel, he can simply whip it off with the adapter, and put on one of these newer style ones everyones using :) Thomas................

Thanks again for your help Thomas, I was hoping to pay less than £50-£60 that, it would cost me that way around - but I will bare this way in mind as the idea of being able to use a different wheel by removing the adapter plate seems good too!

Thanks once again.
