Engine swapped 340. - Long shot!

Post by Dan91 » 16 Feb 2012 03:03 am

Complete long shot i know, but i'll post and check back every now and then :)

Basically i want to be back in a 340, i miss mine! however i dont want the 1.4/1.7 Carbed engine :( And i have no time/space to swap an engine in one myself.

Not some stupidly Road-race setup, I want decent ish MPG and reliability (Hence not wanting a carbed volvo engine'd one ;) )

What i'm after is a 340 With a different engine in it, Idealy a reliable F7R/F7P

However im open to other options if they're reliable as it will be daily driven, little niggles dont bother me as i can sort them no trouble, Things i dont want are bad Rust/Rot and major engine/transmission issues!

I May consider a 2L Injection 360 3 Door, I imagine they're rare as hell though? And id have to check insurance on it.

If anyone is selling/knows of any for sale etc feel free to point me in the right way. Idealy dont want to pay a lot for one either, I would PX What i currently have which is a low mileage ford escort

Cheers, Dan.

I'd possibly consider a modified 1.7 340, But i couldnt stand the lack of power in a 1.4 :(

And ive had a 1.7 one, wasnt bad, but id only have one again if i really liked it.

Hi mate.
I don't know where you get the unreliability thing from.
My daily is a 1.4 and was born in Jan 1981 and runs as sweet as a nut.
Cheers Mark.

I have no faith in carbed cars at all, personal experiences, i hate em.

They probably can be reliable, i just dont want one :)
