Have you tried the breakers? 340s often get scrapped for no good reason.

certainly have, even left my phone number, also contacted people in local paper that advertise to pick up your wreck

As Mick said I'm in Southampton and am quite happy to lend a hand in taking some bits off. Not sure if there's anything I personally want but I will have a think.

Rear clusters taken, rumours have it Ali may want the boot lid, can you confirm dude? If I do take it, there has to be a meet soon, as my house is starting to overflow with Volvo parts...

Ha, I didn't even notice the leather. I've wanted leather for mine since i had a go of a friends 740 TIC and really loved the comfort of those big square armchairs. No room sadly, already got too many cars. However, if this does get made into a trike, I call first dibs on the seats!

A saloon rear bench wont fit into a hatch without modification. The leather looks pretty badly cracked tbh but a fairly tidy car overall.

I seem to think that there must've been a special edition of the 1.7 340 in around 1987 - which added colour coded bumpers/gauges and leather. They also always seem to be either silver, 219 blue or this grey. Lots about atm!

I'm not sure they were SE's Steve, just the last '40 GLE's. You are right though, been a load of them lately.

Hmm yes good point, could well be the last of the line GLE's all in 87 trim though with narrow bump strips and chrome window trims.
