Parts needed...

Post by D.J. Jonny Long » 09 Nov 2005 01:30 am

Hey guys, I've been a bit slack, but the local sargent has told me to buy a few parts.

The steering and suspension bloke here can't source any rear shackle bushes, and mine are sad. A pair of headlights (I only need the reflectors, but it's cheaper and easier to get the whole thing) and rear tail lights.

I got electric windows, of which the right hand side is worn out to the point where it doesn't close, and my dash keeps falling apart. These are the main things, but I do need also a complete body kit and some heavy duty lowered springs front and maybe back.

Any help sourcing these parts (I do live in Australia where there isn't many parts) will be appreciated. All being for a 360GLT right hand drive '84 model. (give me 2 weeks and I'll have my supercharger installed and operating! I'll let you know how that goes.)

Ok, I found the list of stuff I need for the underneath of my 360glt.
Strut bar to chassis bush, lower inner control arm bush, rear shackle bushes (my mechanic can't find these), front struts or cartridges to fit my old struts, both rack ends and an engine pipe.

I removed my air con compressor to make room for my supercharger from my volvo penta 3.6l turbo diesel, and can use the pulley and clutch off the air con to drive the supercharger. I will probably need a few head gaskets too just in case things go wrong with too much boost.

I have a pair of brand new headlight reflectors - £20 + shipping. They're only light, so it ought to be reasonable. I have a shipping price book at home, so I'll let you know.

Listen carefully for knock (marbles in a tin) with that supercharger - I don't think you'll get too far on the stock ECU. You'll probably want to run a programmable EMS on it eventually.

Classicswede can probably help you with polybushes. Do you mean a 'track rod end' where you say 'rack end'?

cheers

I have one side new rear tail light I will have to find out how much I paid for it.
I also have the bushes for the front end in poly. £45 for all the front bushes. If it helps I'm sure parts from myself can be sent with foggys bits.

hey thanks guys, that does help heaps. Poly or nolathane bushes would be a preference.

Track rod end might mean tie rod end maybe?? I do need rack ends and tie rod ends. It's mainly the bushes that the mechanic can't find and any second hand parts that I'll need. Most stuff like shock absorbers and the like are best bought brand new from the suspension place.

I'll let you know about the supercharger, it's on an electric clutch so if it starts to give me problems I can switch it off, and if another car is giving me problems at a red light I can switch it back on again!!!

I'll let you know about the lights, I do need them but work has been skinny lateley.
Once again, thanks guys!
