Odd bits for a 360

Post by biewz » 12 Sep 2006 01:23 pm

I've just signed up on the forums and already im 'requesting things' >.< In short im in Australia meaning that all the 360's here were pretty lacking in accessories that were available in other countries, like headlight wipers!! and heated seats
Most of which i agree are not needed in australia but that dont stop me from wanting them :P
ive recently had someone send me down a pair of elecric mirrors which i need a L/H mirror glass for (with a working heater?)
Im still waiting on a response from the guy about the switches for them but if anyone has a switch panel for electric mirrors, windows and heated seats id be interested?
The little rubber grommets for the headlight wipers as volvo dont keep them anymore (as with many things i am finding out)
Im also after the plastic covers that hide the screws and cables from the mirror inside the door (both)
Power steerings a big one for me atm as i have a brand new rack and nothing else. ive got no idea if i can use a 740 pump or 240 bracket but either way im pretty much after any other parts for it i can get my hands on; the smaller electric fan and brackets, lower steering column + heat sheilds, hoses etc etc.
also > heated seat elements? wiring and associated stuff
Um well thats the bulk of it, especially the PAS parts if anyone can please help me out?
Then theres all the little things that i think i want just cause they're rare and impossible to get such as the gauge accessory panel, levelling suspension, bonnet vent cover, omg! a volvo 5dr body kit and yeah you get the idea.
Shame none of those exist at all down here but hey, maybe one of you may be able so help me change that :D
i will of course cover all costs and postage etc. despite how insanely expensive it may be..
Thanks guys,

oh!!! and a volvo 480 volt/turbo/oil gauge set (i love Tero Huikko's solution!)
Cheers in advance!

The PAS system is basically a later 240 system with a different rack. If you're missing pipes, etc, I'm sure we can sort you out.

Thanks foggy,
looking at the 240 part numbers in VADIS shows that for some reason the pulley on the pump is different (maybe a diff offset?), the pump itself is the same and the bracket is again different,
i guess i should ask these questions in another section but ive just found out that the darn engine pipe is different including its bracket... aaand the steering column.
Would you know if the pipe is very different or i can somehow workaround with my non-PAS one?
Thanks again.

Oh ok... this time i wasnt drunk when i looked at VADIS! sooo u were right foggy, the bracket is the same as the later 240's
except the pulley.. does it look any different in 'real life'? bigger smaller?
cause $158.50AUD is a lot of money for a stupid 15cm pressed metal wheel if you ask me!!!
Wait till you ever need a new alternator pulley  i laughed at the Volvo dealer when he told me the price

Hi, unfortunatly the car I had been ofered got scraped before I could pull the bits off bummer!
The pump and pully all looked the same as a 240 one I cant see any reason why you would not be able to adapt it to fit. The hoses can be made simply (any hydrolics company should be able to do it).
The steering colum is going to be the hard part.

I don't have an e-fan fitted at present, but I do have specs on a fan from Kenlowe which does fit. Space is tight for a fan which give sufficient cooling once an intercooler and AC condensor are added into the equation.

I haven't yet, but I will be, fingers crossed. In front of the condensor is the plan.

Alternatively, it could go where the number plate goes on a mk3, rather like a jap-style FMIC. That would have to be for a seriously fast machine though, to justify the rice.

I can probably arrange for PAS and heater pads to be obtained.

I think i have most of the PAS parts sorted,
Idop however, still need the Electric fan that sits in front of the PAS pump.. thats if they even exist in England ( Volvo have them at an insane price though... but thats my last laaast resort).
But you helping me with the heated seat elements, thermostat and possibly the wiring (all thats needed but the switches) would definately be appreciated!
Let me know if its possible
Thanks mate

cant wait
