Sun roof mechanism

I know there's not much chance finding a working sun roof mechanism (metal slide and tilt) for a 340, bit i thought i would put a feeler out just in case as i seem to be slowly working through tiding up the car. So if anyone has or know where one might be available it would be much appreciated.

Cheers
Carl

If you need a panel, I may have a spare one originally from JOHN360. It's at Foggy's at the moment ...

Carl, if you cme across a second set of cables, I know a man who'd bite your arm off for them ;)

Tom, is this panel still available, I thought you offered me first dibs on that particular one?

The panel i have is fine.

What i'm after is just the full mechanism as i think Chris and a few other people have mentioned at meets that if it's broke it all needs replacing, excluding the panel.

I've got a sneaky plan for fixing snapped brackets, no idea if it would work though. By brackets I mean the white plastic bits on the cable, if the cable's stretched I think it's game over.

I reckon the brackets could be replaced though, using Polymorph or similar. Other idea is to look at VW ones, has anyone confirmed how much of that roof is the same?

Steve, I did, but I understood at the time you didn't want it? I've never seen it, but from what John said it's good but not absolutely perfect.

Perhaps Foggy knows more?

I asked foggy about it recently but he understandably said it was still yours at the time, would certainly be interested if its better than mine.

In that case, consider it yours :-)

So far, only the winder handle and the seal. It wouldn't surprise me at all though, if other Golde bits fit too ...

Now i didn't know that there may be some similarity between VW sun roofs, any idea what flavor of car? I'll have a ring around the people i know with vw's and see if they will allow me to have a poke and a prod.

Hang on i have the etka on disk, i wonder where i put that sm14

Thanks Tom, I probably didn't make it very clear as at the time my 360 was annoying me

I've been trying to figure out if similar aged VW's used common parts with 300 panels, also take a look at Audi's too... unfortunately not found another with the same panel :(

Quite a few cars had Golde sunroofs, air-cooled VWs, Golf Mk1 & Mk2, Scirocco, BMW 2002, and AFAIK some of the bigger Volvos too ...

Only the seal from a 1303 Beetle and a Mk1 Golf is confirmed as fitting though. If you could shed some more light on as to which other parts are interchangeable, I'm sure that info'd be most welcome here :-)

I have one sunroof from a Volvo 340 that I purchased from a scrapyard, but this one does not look like genuine Volvo accessories. It can't slide, just tilt.

Here are some pics:

I don't need it, I would give it away for the cost of shipment. But I live in Bosnia and that could be much!
