Plastic roof guttering

Post by Bazboy »

The plastic guttering much like most other plastic bits on my car is fubar, well not proper fubar cause you can still tell what it is. Anyways i am wondering if it will look ok if removed or is that a definite no no, If anyone has any piccies of what they look like with it gone that would be sweet.

Forever thankful

Best bet is to pull some black trim off a later 340 or GLT... and fit that, they tend not to deteriorate like the chrome. Be VERY careful though as it goes very brittle and if you're not slowly prising it off and loosening it from underneath first it's very likely it'll snap when removing

2ft is missing on one of my A pillars on the GLT, and it really does look poor!

I'm not sure if it would look that bad without the trim. At least 200-series looks much better without it. :P Could be worse in 300-series though.

I seem to remember the seams look gash without the trims on. Be even more careful than a careful person when you remove them, they split like fibreglass tent poles.

I tried that, but the summers heats has made one side of it start to crack and crumble quite badly, was going to filler it and see how it looked but might just look for some all ready black stuff to save time.
