Paint yer leafsprings black again though

Here's a pic of the part number, if it helps:foggyjames wrote:Oh yeah, I checked that a while ago...definitely mk1 Scirocco. I've had an eBay search set up for a while, but UK only. DUH!
Shipping on large items from the US is abusive...but I'll look into it.
cheers

Um yeah, they need a good going at with a wire brush too ...SteveP wrote:Paint yer leafsprings black again though
sounds like a easy job, most likely the white box on the left chassis beam that controls vacuum output to the membrame broken.trabitom99 wrote:try and fix the clutch disengagement valve (crunchy gear changes when the choke is pulled)
I had the complete gear change mechanism swapped first, in order to change the microswitch and now you can hear a clicking when you press the gear selector button, but it hasn't fixed the problem yet. The actual clutch disengager fork thingy would work, it but it doesn't get any vaccuum. I think I have two of those white boxes you mention - in the box with the diaphragms (membranes) in the bottom left of this pic:volvodspec wrote:very nice pix tom!

but, could also be a faulty microswitch on the gear leaver selector wich isn't an easy job
Absolutely! My piece of advice to any newbie Vario owner - go along to a few meets and join a club. You'll get so much more help and useful advice from other enthusiasts than any Volvo garage you care to mention!Stefan wrote:MOT repairs look well done, Daf owners are very helpfull people it seems.
