Respraying plastics?

Hello all,
My 360s front bumper is snapped in a couple of places and im guessing its going to be hard to source a correct colour replacement.
(221Dark Red/Metalic)

Only other option I can think of is find a good front bumper and spray it to match.
Will paint take to a decent finish on bumper plastics?
Best method anyone?
Just plastics primer, paint and laquer?

Sounds like you're on the right lines, I'd be tempted to get it painted professionally dude, it's such a small area it shouldn't cost that much

Just didnt want to turn up at the spray shop with a bumper under my arm only to be told.
'I cant paint that you idiot, its plastic,'

Well it'd likely to cost 20-30 quid in spray paint alone if you DIY it, so might as well take it to a bodyshop I would've thought

Be for the best like.
Want to get it to as high a standard as poss, funds permitting.
Might see if theyll do the wing at the same time.

The last time I had a go at body-colour bumper spraying it turned out OK, but not brilliant.

Now Im living with the consequences. It cost me over 100 on paint related products and due to work took ages to do. Wish I'd got some one else to do it.

Think its best left to a professional then.
I dont think MY best effort would be anywhere as good as most peoples worst, so i'll get it done be a man with the propper skillz.

I had to replace a colour coded 440 bumper once, got a standard grey one, rubbed it down with wet and dry and let the professionals paint it. Decided that from past experience not to try it myself. They took a colour match off the old one and did a great job £100 for the paint and spraying.

I was budgeting for about that level of expenditure.
Not to get saving and find a good bumper.

Bodyshops use special paint with high elasticity so it flexes without cracking. Painted bumpers are easy to do badly

Yeh bumpers can be painted fine, the plastic on the 300 painted bumpers is ABS so is much stiffer and less flexible than the black bumpers. The ones on your car are not retro painted black ones.
The paint bodyshops use is the same as the paint on the body but they add an elastimer to allow it to flex.
