205 boss kit fitting?
Ive got a 205 boss kit but I find it a little tight on the splines, it dosen't seem to want to go on too easyly. Anyone else found this. I don't want to damage anything.

they fit fine.j elvy wrote:Do the early 205 ones fit then??
But don't retain horn function and indicator cancellation without a bit of modification.

What is this fabbled mod that is always banded around then but never seen? Has anyone got a link to it?
I just hacked the wires off of my old wheel and removed the horn ring with cables intact but haven't got round to fit it yet so i'm still hornless

youll have to enlarge the horn ring middle appature as the 205 boss end is thicker than the volvo horn ring hole.
Then splice n dice man.
And youre away.

last minute MOT bodges WIN dude.magnumpi wrote:Niceone VND i know what i'm like tho it probably still won't get done until i panick a few days before MOT time
Theres a story about a northern v3mer using an Evian bottle bought on the way to the mot as an expansion tank or washer resevoir.
Cant remember which man, but thats Scrapheap Challange beating last minute bodge.
Passed as well, as I remember.
Re: 205 boss kit fitting?
On mine i just took the wires from the back of the horn ring and fitted a button instead and the fitted that into the column cowling on the left hand side under the clocks. i didn't bother with the indicators, Just remember to cancel them.
I remember hearing a story of someone who couldn't get there horn to work so they just got a kiddies air honker (simular to those found on old cars) and cable tied it to the drivers wing mirror
just to get an MOT
Not sure if its true but its plausable (and funny
)
