Missing something?

Post by Speedy88 »

I believe I'm missing a pipe that goes between these two holes. It's only a guess and I'm also guessing it's an exhaust relay to improve consumption. Am I correct? Is it needed?

It's the hot air flappy paddle system. It's actually a t in pysical shape, both the round pickup next to the radiator, and the one on the exhaust manifold, go into a heat controlled sensy thing, and that goes to the airbox.

Lots seize up and stick on hot air only though, and random's like removing them for the hell of it. I removed mine when it was seized and didn't note a huge amount of difference over standard apart from on really cold mornings, when it wouldn't want to idle for a bit.

Furry muff. It's never been there since I bought it but it was just recently I thought it might have been an issue, as these low miler 300s on ebay appear to have them

Its to prevent carb icing when you are driving along at highish speeds in very cold conditions, it does not help cold starts (the exhaust is cold then too) or cold running (well maybe a little).
