Update:

If it keeps up this cold very long, then I might need to increase the pace I shovel wood to fireplace

Those wise mens of NASA have told how it is 30 years of warmer, which is followed 30 years of colder. If cold keeps getting worse at this rate, then this country soon might be in a big trouble, Vodka will freeze at these temps

Around -15C here, so it is more human, more snow falling from sky, soon it will be over and temps will go down again.

VND, there was something in that Telegraph that there would be -7C coming to you

No. And even if they do, all Volvolife will still roll on, even in much harder frost.

I have to admit, driving in temperatures below -15°C the Roulunds belts squeal a lot. They never seem to get into working temperature and slip a bit all the time. And it's worst at 20-40 km/h which is most of my trip to work. Naturally it doesn't help that I currently don't have the gearbox protective tray fitted. It's the only bad thing about the cold though. Oh and the constant fiddling with the choke for the first two kilometers or so. And scraping the windows clear of frost. And... oh well.
