MY82 is a 343 or 345, MY83 got the new names 340 & 360; the dash is what tells you if a car is a MY82 or MY83 as do the badges on the boot  .

Yes, it'd use more fuel than your F7R 340...

Hi lads.
It would not be wrong to daily it. My yellow banana car is a daily
and is a couple of years older.
Hope he gets the right money for it.
I would love it but the wife would through me out.
Cheers Mark. sm4

I don't reckon that the age of a car is relevant in the deciding whether it's used daily or not.
But I would say that 'cos my daily drive was built in 1972 and my acquiring the modern 340 doesn't alter that state of affairs.

OK, so if your area uses salt then it can be harder to preserve a car that's driven every day, if you don't own a steam cleaner and a large vat of Ensis 5, but cars that stand around for ages doing nothing do suffer through lack of use. In the case of a 340 vario, how long would it take for the faces of the pulleys to become pitted with rust and how much of each belt would be rubbed away before that rust became smooth steel again? Soak it in Ensis, keep it clean and enjoy it, cars need to be driven. :)

(The daily Dolly had been idle since last Wednesday when I started him up and went for a drive yesterday afternoon, even during that relatively short period of inactivity the discs had acquired just enough surface rust to cause some snatch on braking and the clock was half an Hour slow. Neither thing exactly the end of the world, but had I left that car too long, I'd have needed to go around freeing off calliper pistons)

Yeah... one major reason for that being that the clutch adjustment shims are NLA... so even if someone knows how to do it, they won't have the parts!
