Spotlamp clamp/bracket advice.
Ok, so im trying to mount some safari style spots onto the front bar of a Paddy Hopkirk roofrack.
(all non standard haters gnash teeth and tut now)
The fitting on the base of the spots is a vertical threaded bolt/nut fixing but I dont want to drill a hole in the rack.
The only mounts I can find with Ebay-google-fu are:
small expensive pieces of tin
Pretty expensive for four!
Tried P-clips but cant get them tight enough to hold straight.
Anyone have any ideas, or links/suggestions for cheaper alternatives?

Re: Spotlamp clamp/bracket advice.
No matter what bracket you use at the bottom, you won't hold them straight and still without stays

Or, if you are being tight, a large jubilee clip cut in the middle works as a student budget lamp stay really quite nicely

*Updated link to work.
Re: Spotlamp clamp/bracket advice.
For the main bracket, can you bodge something from a bit of steel strip and some exhaust U clamps?

Re: Spotlamp clamp/bracket advice.
The roof rack bars quite thin so U clamps'll be a bit mahoosive (i think). Thats why I was looking at badgebar sized stuff.Chris_C wrote:For the main bracket, can you bodge something from a bit of steel strip and some exhaust U clamps?
Im mounting them updownside, below the bar so a little wobbling wont be the end of the world. Theyll just sway a bit.
