stereo adapter leads

Post by porky »

Hi, i brought some stero adapter leads off ebay which said they were for the 340 but they dont fit, can some one tell me what ones i need, pic of the connection included. Oh and how the hell do you get the plastic stereo surround out? I was fighting with it for ages and couldnt get it out.

You probably need one of these:

Radio removal depends on what kind of radio you have fitted. If it's an older, twiddly knob manual search type you need to pull the knobs off and get a bent coat hanger through the holes to bend the retaining clips back (you might be able to do this without taking the knobs off too, if the radio can be moved up or down a little way). Newer versions like the Philips VC *** range might need a special radion removal tool, not too sure on those as they weren't fitted to 300s over here.

EDIT: oops only just read you got it out in the end

Thanks for the reply, thought i had sorted it but no. The lead coming from my car are as picture with out another connection, but all the leads i get have the black conector (like the ones on ebay auctions posted). Any one have any ideas where to get ones that will fit?

The leads from that stereos for you website werent as pictured they also had the black connector as well. I will be contacting them sortly.

Do you mean the car just has a single white plug and on the autoleads adapter you have a white plug, plus a smaller black one? This smaller black one is just rear speakers as they were rare enough standard fit that autoleads don't know about them.
