As we all like to see photos just thought I'd post some up of where we've been today. It was the other half's birthday so I treated her to a day out in Eastbourne and took a few piccies whilst parked up at Beachy Head. It was late in the day so photo quality isn't great.
The main reason I took photos is the car doesn't often look this clean so I thought I'd make the most of it It's looking rather handsome today, even if I do say so myself!
And just as I were about to leave, look what parks up next to me. I reckon he was coming back from the Bromley Pageant, and I had one of those moments where I grinned like a numpty at the bloke but didn't actually go up and say anything. Doh! Nice clean example, HLS spec I think.

I think the red 'un kept its distance because your car looks so hard.
You know what, I think you're right! But I'm glad he did as nothing annoys me more than someone parking right next to you in an empty car park. Why oh why do they do it??
Haven't polished it just a good thorough wash, and I must admit I'm surprised how shiny it is too. I've changed to using Autoglym shampoo the last few washes so maybe that's done the trick.
Looking great! God, I haven't seen an Austin Maestro in ages. They used to be all over the place and now there are even fewer around in the UK than V300s I reckon ...
Nice to see the GLT is still about and that you're taking good care of it. I was only thinking the other day where it might be, as I know Chris_C told me it had moved on a couple of times recently. Where abouts are you, as I'm Oxfordshire/Bucks, so I may even see it around, or if you need anything or any help give me a shout.
It does look nice and shiny in the pictures there! It was a very good car really, just a couple of minor things letting it down, but at least it's got a black bumper now on the back! It's interesting to see how it's progressed.
Have you done your oil change yet? Just as a hint, you probably already know, but use a genuine Volvo oil filter, or at least the OEM Mann, as the other makes normally don't have an anti return valve in them, so the oil drains back out of the filter when the car is switched off. This is a point we proved quite nicely with a Fram filter, the car had been running, stopped for less than ten minutes while it was jacked up onto axle stands, removed the filter, it was practically empty!
All the best,
Pete
G reg 360 GLT, G reg 340 GL Variomatic, plus many more..........

Hi Pete,
Yes I did the oil change last week and made sure I used the 'proper' genuine oil filter (and now have a stock of them too!).
Thanks for the offer of help, much appreciated. I'm located in South East London but often make trips up the M40 to visit the in-laws in Worcester, so I'll wave if I see you The log book is now showing 9 previous owners so I take it you're one of the early ones are you? I agree it's a good 'un with just a few older car niggles, the latest of which is heat pouring out of the footwell vents even though the heater is switched off. That made for a boiling hot drive up the M40 this weekend which was fun, I had to delay the drive home until the sun had set it was so flippin hot! I've added it to this week's list of car tinkering tasks...
