Re: 1.7 engine
Yup. Cheaper than the things you've mentioned.L14MNP wrote:Fit a Renault 16v lump mate.
And faster.
Re: 1.7 engine
how much is the 16v lump and how hard is it to wire up. id rather keep it carbed then go to injection its proberly easyer that way, well easyer for me anyway so does any one have any idea on cost of the 16v lump ? i did see a post about 1.7 turbo lump is that out of a 480? is that easy to wire up?
Re: 1.7 engine
If you're going 16v then seriously consider injection. It will save you countless headaches in the future, basically once you set it up it is unlikely you'll ever have to touch it again. Plus you're likely to get optimum performance out of it. Whereas carbs have many problems which you will know about already.

Ignore the wiring, the entire swap is a ball ache compared to a valver.azza_126 wrote:i did see a post about 1.7 turbo lump is that out of a 480? is that easy to wire up?
For a sneaky +10hp, find a 440/460 B18KP, grab the carb, the cam and the renix unit. The cam is the same as the B18F too, the drillings for the carb jets are in the green book, but I can't remember if the renix is shared with anything (I doubt it is) and all the above will be pointless without that.

Re: 1.7 engine
The cheapest easy and can still be kept carb power is to fit a B20F from a 440/460/480.
