B200 missing some power

Post by mrborrie »

I got a 360 Sedan from 1986 build up to be a CUP race car ( build here:http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/v ... 13&t=11648 )
Now i'm new on the tracks so should not expect to win right away but i did notice that on the straights other 360's where running away from me.
Its so bad other driver came up to me asking me what's wrong so if they even notice there must be something going on under the hood.

Its a B200 with EGR sort of blocked off (ill post a pic when i'm done typing) and used to run on LPG i found out, more than that i really dont know.
Ohyeah i'm also leaking allot of fuel in corners and my pump sometimes dies..
Its a bit vague but i just want to mention all the things i know. i could make a list of things to check and run through them with your help if that's cool

- check compression
- replace the rotor and cap and sparkplug wires (not yet replaced them no idea how old they are)
- check the brakes in the back and see if they run free..?

Other suggestions are welcome, i dont really like to get my ass kicked on the track that much :D

Despite their reliability, I'd say that sounds like an overflowing carb to me. Bowl heights?

Boris 360 has a B200E so injection

the list you have is a good start, as for the engine running a bit different now you've blocked the EGR valve i'd say replace those ignition parts and then a finetune of the mixture at the AMM

a bottle of injector cleaner on a full tank could be an idea (when the fuel stays in the tank atleast  ) but i personally wouldn't try all those things at once because it's harder to point out an initial cause
