New one to the volvo lifestyle

Post by J.J. » 26 Sep 2011 11:02 am

Hi guys,

well on Saturday I bought by 1st volvo, which is also my 1st car.
Me and a mate woke up at 7am and done the 3 hour trip to Leicester from Bromley, arrived there found the guy, I'm pretty sure he's on here as well.
Walked around the corner down into a dark underground car park, got to the bottom level and the lights flickered on and in the corner was the Volvo, seemed like we were in some sort of film lol, but was really cool to see it in the flesh as the pictures worried me a bit, but on arrival it looked really good just needed a good clean which is the 1st thing we did when we got it back, didn't skip a beat on the way back either, rolling along windows down with the heated seats on, like a pimp as you do. 8)
Anyway, we had a good look over it and sorted the plans for it.
right now spec is as follows:
welded diff
Cut springs on the front
land rover shocks on the back with lowering blocks I think there called (proper noob sorry)
Interior stripped out
and my mates roll cage from the last 2 Volvos he's had.

Plans are:
over arch bits (again I dont know the real name lol) to hide a little bit of rust and give it a wider look.
I would like Spax shocks all round as at the moment it feels like driving a boat and I've heard good things about the spax.
Mk1 Golf front splitter.
A nice set of Weller alloys, nice and deep :)
A proper steering wheel as the standard one is fugly.
then eventually Bucket seats and harness's.
I think that's it, off the top of my head.

We took it for a little skid last night and with a lot of clutch it does go and not too bad tbh either, so once the rain turns up should be good.
I think were going to Prept on Wednesday at brands hatch if any of you lot go, give us a wave or something. :)

I would chuck up a couple of pictures but it says the size is too big, so once I work out how to I'll put some up :340:

haha, yeh it sound look nice and low and it bangs and bounces about over every little bump, when we done a little skid in it as we were going along it was literally bouncing up and down for the hole skid lol so I need proper stiffer suspension, before I felt what it was like suspension was the last thing on my list now its as good as top.
