360 carb fuel consumption..
'the most advanced technology' which makes it slower, less powerful, and more fuel consumption. what great technology..

So it looks like I'm wrong, and it DOES use more fuel....hmm....VERY odd!
Having said that, LU Jet ought to be much more forgiving of alterations....ie: pop a hotter cam and bigger injectors in there, and it'll auto-correct! Or to put it another way...Aymat can upgrade more easily than the rest of us (especially us with the B200K
)....if he wants to! I think for ease of upgrading my carbs come second, followed by LE-Jet. Having said all of that, my carbs ought to give the best performance (and the worst MPG!).
cheers
James

Yes, but not because of the catalyst acting as an exhaust-bung. I'm VERY interested to know why the MPG is worse - power is down as you might expect, but it shouldn't use more fuel....very odd.

Could it be that that low performance cam is reason? Driver needs to push it much harder to make it go. Maybe also different differential, higher rpm?
Rear sound absorber is different in some models, some are one side in other side out and some are one side in same side out, type. The last one is bad for economy, can affect even 0,5litres per 100km
I'm just guessing here

yes it *is* because of that!foggyjames wrote:Yes, but not because of the catalyst acting as an exhaust-bung. I'm VERY interested to know why the MPG is worse - power is down as you might expect, but it shouldn't use more fuel....very odd.

In that case, Aymat must buy some of those electric superchargers from ebay

Re: 360 carb fuel consumption..
I think with 2 litres engine best fuel consumption is on 4th gear 50 km/h, and on 5th gear less than 80km/h.
Re: 360 carb fuel consumption..
Holy thread bump!! Anyways, reading back a couple of posts, the reason a later B200E/F with the LU jet has less power, is because of the cat, stifling the flow of gases through the exhaust, but that doesn't cause the poor fuel consumption. No, that is caused by the delight that is the Pulsair and EGR systems, that basically pump exhaust gases through the inlet manifold at part throttle, in order to lower the NOx emissions and help the cat function better. The side effect is that it also lowers the power and efficiency of the engine, because there's less air going into it.
Best speed for fuel consumption IMO is about 85-90 km/h
