prop shaft

Post by b10opc » 23 Nov 2011 05:03 pm

Okay so my prop went after three 5 days of owning the car im getting a stronger prop made but whats gonna go next.

It was the rubber connecting the spline to the outer tube so im getting one made with no rubber im guessi.g it will be the splines them selves next which isnt going to be nice

Has anyone but i strengthend prop on and had more trouble or anything let me know

I take it it looks like this?

In which case, it's not the props fault. No offence, but it's a 1.4, it's not a high power engine. There is no chance that Volvo would have fitted that part to the higher rated 1700 if a 1400 could break it.

I imagine your engine mounts are knackered.

Definitely check the engine mounts, but if they're OK then it might just be a perished prop. The rubber can get perished.
