1.7 rad in a 1.4?
1.7 rad in a 1.4?
is it just a straight fit in? also is there any other radiators i can use with it has the f7p engine in it if that changes anything?
Re: 1.7 rad in a 1.4?
What year is it?
Re: 1.7 rad in a 1.4?
Yeah it'll fit. You can use the 1.4 rad with the f7p but I'd be wary in the summer if you plan to sit in traffic for 30 mins

I thought the radiator for 1.4 and 1.7 was identical for late cars? All of mine look the same, they may not all be originals though.
The radiator hoses from a 1.7 fit perfectly to the F7P, no modification required if you use the R19 thermostat housing. If you've got messy water pipes it may be worth getting finding 1.7 ones to replace them.

if your worried about coolant temps then i would advise a ford focus 2.0 ztec rad with twin fans it should just fit the inlet/oulets are in the same place and its pretty easy to make fit anything i used cable ties into my bmw 5 series 6months on it hadnt moved bit bogey but i was gunna come back to it but it never broke haha what isnt broke dont fix it, you could wire one fan up to the thermostat and another to a switch with a relay i had both mine on separate switches
i ran this rad in my 6pot bmw and it never got hot it sat at same temp as the standard bmw, even when thrashing the shit out of it the middle of summer one fan on it was fine and the fans are stupidly powerfull i mean you could feel the air being sucked through if you put your hand in front of the grill
the from my local breakers it only cost me £30 - £10 for the rad and £20 for the fans
heres a picture yes that is a 300 head tank only one i had spare and all sorts of pipes to link it all together
