If you lift the rubber boot can you seen the wire colours chap? I can't think off hand of any of those style plugs with the locking tab on the short side rather than the long.
3pin plugs from memory are coil, MAP, lambda and TPS if that helps, though that only seems to have 2 contacts too, so it won't be any of them!

I must have spent a good few weeks trying to find a thing for that to plug into. I think it's an excess bit left over from the Clio loom, Adam wasn't even sure when I asked him.
Hows the progress anyway dude?

Yeah, should be a pretty loud high pitched whirring from the back end. Stick your head in the boot to be sure.

Hmm, I remember speedy having an issue with the pump previously. He fixed it though. that was a while before he sold it too. Check the connection around it and to the ecu. What you could do is if you have a small fan or motor (12v) put the signal wire that goes to the fuel pump (fuel pump live) on the motor, and earth it. Then get a mate to turn the engine over, or even turn the ignition on (don't know if speedy had it set up self priming, check with him), and if the motor doesn't spin, you know its a connection problem. If it does spin, you know its the pump thats faulty.
That make any sense?

Yep it self primes. Ok the issues I had were to do with the relays (for the pump) which are the 2 relays next to the ECU. They were just a little corroded, give them a clean up. The fuel pump live runs from there, accross the top of the heater box and to the small fuse box with 2 15A fuses in. From here it runs through the interior (diverting to the anti-theft connections under the drivers seat) and then through to the boot where it plugs into a spade connection on the fuel pump (this sticks out of the fuel tank access in the boot)
A way to bypass all this is to run a wire directly from the battery over the car to the spade terminal on the fuel pump. HOWEVER, don't run this as a permement solution - as it has no protection for the pump against Ampage spikes. Plus the pump will be on all the time.
