Swapping the diff

Hey all, some of you may have seen my post in the wanted section for a standard diff to swap for a welded one which I currently have 2 of. Just wondered, is it possible to swap just the diff or is the gearbox all part of the assembly? I'm a massive noob to this and if swapping just the diff is possible it might make my finding a replacement that much easier! Thanks.

yep you can change just the diff pretty easy i find taking the tank out makes it alot easier
get your self a haynes manual that will tell you how to do it
