Valver Help! 340 F7P idleing at 3k???

Basically as the title, for some reason after it warms up my car has started to idle at 3000 rpm? The brakes also feel as if I have lost servo assistance??!! all of the vacume lines seem okay from the inlet manifold and too the servo. Any Ideas????????

make sure all the bolts on the manifolds are tight

What zeb said. Check there's no leaks through the inlet manifold. Also, if you can, get some compressed air through the hard line that takes the vacuum from the mani to the servo, just to check if its blocked.

Otherwise, could be the ICV (Idle control valve) or the MAP sensor. Both aren't too expensive to replace.

Cheers guys, I'm thinking it might be the Idle control valve because if i key it off and on quickly when its running it resets the idle to ~1200.

is ur idle control valve joined on to like a lil mini air filter? if so take it off and put ur finger half way over or some one told me you can tap the icv with a hammer

Yeah, to check for manifold leaks, cover the ICV intake with your hand. The engine should instantly stall. If it doesn't you've got a leak somewhere around the intake.

Covered up the ICV and it still idles pretty well, Ill take the intake mani off at the weekend and re-fit nice and tight.
