High strength driveshaft bolts??

My driveshaft bolts on my 1.7 340 saloon are either broken or loose, so wanted to change them for high strength ones then locktite them in,

any ideas where I can get some?

Don't mess about with them, they are already high strength. Use the proper parts and tighten to the proper torque, no need for thread lock.

The main problem people have is over or under tightening, old bolts apparently should be renewed, but definately if over torqued.

I've never had a problem, but one mechanic who took the piss out of for using a torque wrench on them, ruined a mates car not using one. 'I made sure they were tight, I hit the allen key with a hammer' he said after the drive shaft fell off. I didn't say a word, but did feel smug , he was alot bigger than me.

Most big bolts like suspension ones are not highly stressed and you cannot easily over stretch the bolt or ruin the threads, but on these its very easy. You really need to have confidence your wrench is accurate. I just got a digital torque adaptor for this purpose, but it also has a wider range and I think its design means it will be more accurate and long lasting than a mechanical torque wrench. Much handier+smaller than a mechanical wrench aswell, highly recommended.
