The closest matches in a 16 of a nice width are 195/45/16, and 205/45/16 (yeah, same profile, but it's closest for both...only 4.5mm difference!)

cheers

How do those that have "wide" tyres (195s) find the steering etc?

When i went from 175 to 195 on my 1.4 with no PAS the only differences to be shown are more grip into corners, and slightly heavier steering at slow parking type speeds, but its by no means undrivable without PAS!!!

Having steered Nessy (surprisingly light), I'm willing to bet a non PAS 360 is a whole new kind of evil, especially with wide tyres.

True...a knackered rack won't help...and of course a PAS car with the engine off is a lot heavier to steer than a non PAS car.

Even a little woman (girlracer) has no probs steering a non pas car with 195 tyres.
Another interesting fact with wide tyres I have found amazons much lighter on the steering with 195/60/15's compared to the original 165's.
Most people are very suprised.

I've been told the 360s without PAS are particularly brutal. I certainly know that the 340 B14 is remarkably light to steer for such a large car. Maybe it's the huge extra weight of the redblock (for a unit designed to be a 2.1, boy is it huge...the B17 (1.7) was a complete joke...not that we ever got that...), or maybe the racks were different?

cheers

Talking about nessy, I passed Hughs place the other day amd rubbernecked to see if Nessy was there and the protective cover was off.

I hope the windows were wound up or the thunderstorm the other day means the interior will be quite wet. Was the sunroof leaking as well? :(

I hope I havn't leeked some secret work news :P

Nope....I know nothing :)

Leaving the windows open under the cover kept it smelling good, so I might have a chat to Hugh about me buying a new cover...I know the old one was getting a bit tatty (so Hugh's mum pointed out), so maybe they removed it in case it fell apart in the storm? I'll find out...

cheers
