Grill with driving lights

Post by Carl »

I havent even got another 360 yet, but I thought I'd start looking for some bits for it :)

I'm after the grill with the driving lights in. Unlikely, but has anyone got one they dont want? Do they come up for sale very often?

Cheers

Just a tip if you do find one Carl, make sure it has the right locating pins/lugs left on it, as the Hella grilles came with the right lugs to fit all 300's, then break off the one's you don't need, sadly the one I ahd wasn't on a 360 Mk3 before I had it, which made fitting it rather interesting. I have one, but I think I'll be keeping it. Must say the lights make a HUGE difference, it's like daylight.

Thanks Pete, I'll try and remember that. Glad to hear that they make a difference though, sounds like they're exactly what I'm after!

Let me know if you change your mind :)

ChrisC was the man to first have the Hella grille, and got me mine too! It does make a massive difference, the trouble is it can only be on main beam, not dipped headlights, so when you have to dip the lights it feels as though your only on sidelights or something as you're plunged into darkness!

Heh, I'm not worried about that too much, as for road rally rules that's exactly what they need to do :)

Will have to start looking a bit harder for one!

Ahhh, yes, Pete is right, ask the guys who went to Taunton about the brightness of the grill ;) The only two I've seen for sale in the last three years Carl I've bought... though was pursuaded to sell one, then got another 300...

Anyway, I have heard a rumour about another I know of coming up soon, attached to a rather nice leather interior too... I'll keep an eye out though mate, won't tell you the last one I got was in Soton either ;)

You could always do the ghetto version, and just fit extra lights...behind the grille (even using cut-outs?) if necessary.

cheers

I like the "behind the grille ghetto" option a lot better than that dead-ugly Hella grille...

Chris, I too like it, but not 100%! It's nice, but a Volvo needs to diagonal logo, and neither of the Hella grilles has a decent grille pattern to it, the slots work quite well in the one you have. It's not to everyone's liking, but I found I grew to like to more once it was on the car, and for the extra vision it gives at night, it's well worth it.

I like it ;) The behind the grill getto ones are also quite nice, kinda Dodge Charger ish

I often find in the country lanes, that a bit more light would be alright, I don't even have fogs :(

I still prefer spots and fogs mounted in front of the grille . It just seems more in keeping with the cars age
