had a little look around under the bonnet and found the hose to cut (pic 8 above ) but the pipe on the car is a larger bore than the pipe from my econometer ,the only t pieces I have come across so far have all three branches the same size ( windscreen washer jet size ) which is ok for the pipe from the econometer but not the pipe on the car , any suggestions ?

You can get the pipes that step down to the smaller size!! If you want i will get a couple for the meet?

The original ones are 'correct' in this way. I think I might have a spare...if not, pull one from any 1.7 - there's one (somewhere else) on every one AFAIK.
