Terms and conditions apply. This post may go down as well as up. Regulated by the Financial Services Authority. Hard hats to be worn. No reversing without a banksman. No admittance to unauthorized persons. Stop that. Put that down. Leave that alone.

20 - lead boots, James?
Thanks to Steve for the helpful comments. As I think I said further back in the thread, I'll definitely bid, but last minute - I don't believe in encouraging the morons who just enjoy bidding things up and never buy a thing - I think we've all seen 'em in action

Don't bother with a big valve head...it's plenty big enough for the 2.0. If you want a quick and easy upgrade, drop in the cam from a 740 injection (B200E or B230E) -stamped with a V. It'll give you a few extra horses (122?), and they're everywhere.
If you want a genuine upgrade, by far the easiest thing is to drop in a 2.3 lump. The B230F from a late 740 or early 940 looks identical to a 360 engine (insurance
), plus has lambda fuel control for better emissions and economy. Rip the cat out, put a hotter cam back in (the 'A' from the GLT, or the 'V' from the 740 injection), and you've got the power back without losing efficiency.
An added bonus would be a B230FB (early 940 again), which is a higher performance version with a different cam and a better flowing head as standard - and of course the ECU is mapped exactly right for that configuration.
cheers

Just one word.redline wrote:the cars been withdrawn coz he cant get it started
BUGGER!
Or more to the point: I'd still offer him the cash, but it's a bloody long way from home if I can't get it started. The Brick, or more affectionately, Katie, has a tow bar, but my trailer went west when the refuse wagon backed over it (don't ask); so I'm kind of snookered.
And apart from that, those plaster cows frighten me

If I Get it and can get it running I will let you know
360 I know you are interested in the car although I realize you need one you can drive away because of the distance involved,
l
leave it with me for now coz if the seller thinks there is interest the price might go up.
At the moment all they have is an immobile lump of metal (with very little tax ) parked on the side of the road so they are not in a strong position
I have told them its worth no more than £50.00 as a non runner so lets see what happens ,
its literally 5 minutes from my place and I have driven past the car this morning although there were too many people about to stop and have a good look ( the redlines not exactly inconspicuous either )
