What engine would you consider upgrading to...
Hi all, just wanted to see what engine conversions you guys would consider...
Please note, bhp figures listed below might vary depending on which production year the engine was made.

B18FT, just because I don't have a '60 atm to bolt a redblock onto atm, and don't feel like putting in new running gear flywheel back!

I have only listed Redblocks and Renault/Volvo 8v lumps with the exception of the purely Renault F16ie engine because people have discussed it on the forum and it is closely related to the other Renault engined 340s/400s,
I would have added the 2.5 S6 24v from the 960 but no one has expressed a desire to fit one into a 300, im not sure if anyone ever has either and the work involved, im guessing its alot harder to fit one of those than the redblocks and renault engines.
I just want to see what the most popular choice is, a while ago it was the B230E/FT lump, now things have changed.
Cheers,
Al

Yes it is being done. www.pukema.com Though he said that he has sold some of the parts which are seen on the page because project got out of hand and there's something even crazier to come...
240 is a spare parts car which is going to lend some parts to 360 too.
Nice project if it finishesh some day.

I'd like as much power as possible, so it should have been one of the 2.3Ts, but I thought I'd base the vote on reality so went for a plain old B230E (as that's what I'm currently looking at!).

the 230e is 2.3 16v ? if so nice ......but tranmission/axle/brake/suspension upgraded/changed too??!!
keep engine original in my opinion, but make some mods brakes/suspension/interior etc. ive never driven a 1.4 or 1.7 though ,just b19's which i think are bullet proof. i dont think i would have a 1.7 but a few times ive been tempted for a 1.4............then again if i drove 1 and it was flat as ,maybe i would consider a transplant.

Nope the B230E is the normal 8v I'm afraid. I'd like a lower ratio diff, but that's probably not going to happen so the drivetrain will remain standard. Suspension will be renwed and slightly tweak but nothing OTT. Gotta figure out a brake upgrade soon though!

You seem to be missing the B280E which has allegedly been done and the 5 pot series of Volvo engines - a B5254 on ITB's would be great!
