My car is lovely and quiet except for the centre console, rattles and squeaks no end! Had a similar problem with the display/speed console which was sorted by jaming rubberised tape and old inner tubes in the gaps
Has anyone used a silicone sealant or similar to stop noise?
I had something like that and it was the radio not situated properly. Two supports for the rear had moved. After a bit of yanking I got it out (ooh er missus) replaced the support. The keys were missing so I had to be a bit more brutal. Tape player was shot anyway.
However, when given birthday gift of new CD player, duly installed, no further noise!
In all honesty a sealant in the gaps probably wouldn't do a great deal, unless you found the part that was creatng the noise, made a gap, and put the sealant between the two surfaces. THe interiors of 300 are pretty quiet in my experience, which makes one noise stand out, and really annoy you! I have one noise that comes and goes on the drivers side, either near the vent, or in the door card by the mirror. In comparision to other cars of the era they are amazingly rattle free! If you've ever taken a whole interior including the front dash, heater vents etc out of a 300, it'd make you wonder how it could be so quiet! There are so many possible causes that are jsut waiting to squeak or rattle. In the centre console, the whole thing is supported on one rail behind the gearstick, and then there are some adjustable bits behind the radio, over time these may have rattled out of place slightly, or need adjusting. Good luck.

Also remember that in the winter, plastic is prone to being affected by the cold, so contracting and becoming a loose fit, as I find my rattle goes away once it's warmed up in the cabin!
