360 racing videos

Post by jtbo »

I found something last night as I again decided not to sleep:
http://www.martderijke.nl/?page=videos

Incar races from V360Cup, Zandvoort track. I don't understand language, but click those blue links and you will get videos :P

They run with approx 3 degrees of camber at front, little (60mm) lowered suspension, adjustable shocks, engine very much stock 125hp most speedo was somewhere 170kph range on that main straight and 5th gear if I counted right, revs 5500-6000 so I guess not 3.36:1 differential there, LOL
Tyres are Toyo, from one pic I saw some thread, so maybe semislicks.

I don't know much from this serie, I know that my rFactor project will include all same upgrades at some point. I took spin around Zandvoort (Yes, rFactor has it too) got 2:23 min with street tyres, 3.36 diff and -0.2 camber, suspension is however not yet ready and so is many other things missing, oh yes, I got 130hp

I could make a video from rFactor, but there is still so much that is not even started yet so I think I will wait, dashboard, sounds and damper rates must be set at least ;)

LOL! That guy from the movies was a friend of mine in primary school :D He's lives half a mile away from me.

The engine in the race cars may not put out more then 125 bhp. That is to keep it fair. It's looks quite an experience to race a totally stripped 360 with 125 bhp

Nice link! downloading all the videos now, they're looking good! What sort of spec do the 360 cup cars have, I gather that they're fairly standard?

The cars are indeed fairly standard. They have different suspension to lower the car and for better grip, but thats all. The engines may have a sports airfilter and cold air intakes. But the power must stay under 125 bhp, otherwise you will be disqualified. Straight exhaust middle pipe is allowed, as also a tailpipe from 340 diesel, but also with that the power must stay under 125 bhp.

I can try to translate the V360 Cup website's regulations sometime. It tells all the alterations you can and can't make to your car. Also the obligations your car must have.

If I can get spring rates, damper rates, weight and torque curve for V360Cars also rules then I could make rFactor mod about V360Cup while I'm doing road car 360&340....

Sure pics of cars for paintworks would be needed too and if there is available, tyre specs, slip angles(curves) of tyres.

My team is currently making this Volvo 300-serie mod and Formula 3 Finland (where I got pics from Formula 3 teams, also I work in close together with them to get specs right, etc.)

So all information is welcome and you may contact me if any interested :)

Could be great to get this nice serie to computer, where it would live forever ;)
I know we have Zandvoort and Zolder tracks for rFactor, do V360Cup race any other tracks?

Edit: too bad there has not been time to make this, maybe some day if I find someone to make skins for cars.

May be it will be a little hard getting all that info but i'll see what i can do.

Spring and damper rates will be hard to get i think. As also torque and weight.

May be you can look for some pictures on http://www.dnrt.nl

That is the website of the 'Dutch National Racing Team'. There are lots of competition classes for different types of race cars. I'm sure it would interest you.

There is also this website: http://www.z-a-c.nl/v360/

I messaged to dai about spax specs and he is trying to look those, I guess Konis are pretty close, just not so many setting positions.

Torque I know pretty close, 180nm at 3000rpm, power max 125hp, max power comes around 5500rpm. Then I have dyno sheets from my car with different setups so that I can get very close.

Tyres seem to be Toyo Proxes RA-1 and 14" so there is only 210/50-14 that they could be using, I posted to rsc if there is more data available, there is currently work going on to translate rFactor tire curves to realworld data and other way around so need just some slip angles etc.
However there is middle spec tyre already in game that is very close to proxes, maybe bit too forgiving.

360GLT has front spring rate of approx 33,64kN and V360Cup cars are lowered maybe some 60mm, I guess springs are cut or replaced with other cutted springs, maybe rate between 44-60kN just guessing.

Rear springs, I have no data of stock, but those seem to be somewhere between 30-28kN, V360Cup cars use lowering blocks at rear, I think it was 40mm that they use, but I don't know if they use extra leaf?

I have tested now a little with this and I think that suspension and weight are now that need lot of work and of course tires.

115hp is standard engine without any modifications.

I have now 100hp B200K, 115hp B200(E or F?), 125hp B200E/F Cup engine, 130hp my own B200 megasquirt engine, 80hp B172K, I'm thinking of making 1,4l engine too, but that may be bit slow, 1,7l engine is quite slow too.

Also 3,64 and 3,36 differentials.

I'm not sure about stock ride height, is it 18cm for GLT?

With current physics gear shift points are same on track as those videos, lap times are pretty close, maybe bit too fast because of tyres/weight. General feeling is pretty much same as what one gets from video, but still physics are far from ready.

Front camber changes really lot of this car behaviour, I think that camber mod should be first one to do if someone is going to track.

Excellent find jtbo! sm40

That's really exciting close racing. Particulalrly liked the one when the camera comes from behind and beats two other cars just before the finish.

Also, interesting to see '60's up against an Alfa 75 (Who's a very dirty driver) and a Golf. Volvo's got the advantage over both of them on the twisties (or maybe it's just the driver) before superior HP takes over. Solution - give the Volvo MORE POWER.

Is there a series for classic 80's cars here in the UK. I would love to do a bit of that...

These are awesome videos - I'm still impressed at their cornering and braking ability when I watch them. Beats the Golf and Alfa hands down in these points.
